City of Blinding Lights

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

I can't wait for Meet and Greet on Friday from 3 - 4.

It's been a marvelous summer!  I had a great time soaking up the sun at the pool, working on getting stronger, and attending concerts.  I went to see my favorite band U2 in Chicago.  This was an awesome experience, and I was reminded how important it is for us to become global citizens.
I was inspired by the show to start thinking about my role in the world when this image was projected on a giant screen.
Students - I can't wait to hear about your summer vacations.  As you are getting ready for school to begin, I would like you to think about who you are as a reader.  During the first two weeks of school, we will discuss our reading life.  I am asking you to collect items in a shoebox that show your reading life.  You could include things like where you like to read or your favorite book.  I will share more with you about this activity during the first two days of school.

Parents - Please follow my blog.  I will also send out a weekly email on Thursday titled Hello from Room 181!  If you have any questions or concerns, please ask!
